How do I make it safer?

Monitor webcam use and any posting or exchanging of pictures online.
Check children's files in "My Pictures" to see what images are being sent, received, and saved by them.
Set a time every night when all technology should be shut off. Many laptops have built in webcams so if children have laptops in their rooms, make sure they either close the laptops at this time or the laptops are removed from their rooms.

Explain to children that people can save pictures of someone on webcam. Once a picture is sent or saved by someone else, control over what happens to the picture is lost. It is important to be careful when sending pictures to others.
Explain to children that if someone tries to get them to send a picture or to go on the webcam and do things that are inappropriate or seem “weird” they should stop talking to the person and tell a safe adult about it.
