How do adolescents use it?
- Adolescents use webcams while chatting through Instant Messaging (IM) programs with their friends. It enables the individual they are chatting with to see them in real time and vice versa if the other individual is also using a webcam.
- Some chat rooms may also provide the option to use a webcam while chatting.
- Adolescents may also create videos or still images of themselves and/or their friends using a webcam. These videos/still images can be sent as files through email, IM programs, and chat rooms. They can also be uploaded or live streamed to various social networking or video hosting sites.
