- Some material found through peer-to-peer (P2P) or BitTorrent programs can be sexually explicit. Filenames can be changed and do not always reflect the content of the file.
- In using P2P or BitTorrent programs, there is a risk of downloading viruses and malware.
The act of downloading something on a P2P network also runs the risk of breaking copyright law.
