What are the risks?
Content:
- Kids may open spam email which may expose them to content or links to content which is inappropriate (i.e. sexually explicit or violent content).
- Kids who are sending/receiving images/videos through email may expose the computer to viruses.
Conduct:
- Youth may send nude images to peers without understanding that the images can be forwarded or permanently posted online.
Contact:
- Sexual offenders can hijack email accounts and coerce children/adolescents to send nude or partially-clothed images of themselves.
